Starbuck James Limited (“SJL”) takes data privacy seriously and maintains a Privacy Policy ("Policy") to describe how we will use information on individuals who visit this website or participate in our recruitment services.

This Policy covers data collected through this website or during our recruitment services.
DATA COLLECTED VIA WEBSITE
How do we collect your data via the website? When you send a message to us using one of the “Contact Us” portals, we can collect and use the data that you send us. You will know what data we collect through the website, because you actively submit it.
What do we use your data for when we collect it? We use the data we collect from our website to respond to the request that you sent us, such as your request for information on our services or your job search, or to inform you about our services.
We do not use “cookies” or other similar technologies.
Disclosures of Personal Information: We will not sell or rent your information to third parties and we do not share any personal data with others, except in the following circumstances: to carry out our services as professional recruiters; we freely share your information within SJL; we may share your information as required by law or in the interest of protecting or exercising our or others' legal rights, for example, in connection with court proceedings or requests from law enforcement officials.
Security: Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, you should be aware that the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to the us via email, the website, or any third party such as job boards. For this reason, any transmission is at your own risk.
However we use strict operational procedures and adequate, technical and organisational security measures to prevent any unauthorised access, change, deletion or transmission of this personal information.
DATA COLLECTED IN CONNECTION WITH OUR SERVICES
If you are engaged with us as a potential candidate in connection with our recruitment services, please note the following:
Data Collection: To provide our clients with recruitment services SJL collects and processes information relating to individuals (referred to as “Personal Information”) which typically includes information in a standard curriculum vitae (e.g., name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, employment history, degree(s) and other qualifications, languages and other skills). It may also include, without limitation: age, nationality and race (only to the extent allowed by law), compensation details, a record of our contact history with you and comments from third parties. Our records derive from information collected directly from you, publicly available sources and third parties.
Data Usage: We will use Personal Information to contact you about recruitment assignments conducted for our clients that involve the identification, evaluation and/or selection of qualified candidates. We, or our client, may also provide Personal Information to applicable regulators. In addition, we may also collect demographic information about you to assist our clients in addressing their diversity needs. Depending on how far your candidacy progresses, we may verify the accuracy of Personal Information with regard to academic and professional qualifications, skills and credentials, work performance, and check or confirm references. We understand the sensitive nature of this endeavour, and we will not speak to your current employer without your express permission, but if there is any other individual we should not contact, please inform SJL or the Privacy Officer at the address below.
Data Storage: Your information is maintained on SJL’s database, which is secure and accessible only to SJL employees. Outside SJL, your information may also be disclosed on a confidential basis to clients who may need to process your information for assessment purposes and third parties when required by law. Personal Information is retained until the purposes have been fulfilled or otherwise required by law.
Transfer of Personal Information: Your personal information may be transferred and processed by clients in one or more other countries, in or outside the European Union. Therefore the recipients of Personal Information (and the servers that hold your information) may be located in jurisdictions that may have data privacy laws that do not provide the same level of protection as those in the European Economic Area. SJL is committed to protecting your information, and we will take appropriate technical, organisational and legal measures to secure your Personal Information in all cases.
Your Rights: You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time or to access and request that we rectify or remove your record from our systems. When asked to remove a record from our database, SJL may retain minimal Personal Information in order to prevent future contact, to keep a record of the information disclosed to our clients and to preserve SJL’s interests in accordance with any applicable legal requirements. If you withdraw your consent to our Policy you will not be able to be a part of a SJL search or assessment project. You may exercise these rights by contacting the Data Privacy Officer. SJL will comply with any request as required by law.
EFFECTIVE DATE AMENDMENTS
This Policy is effective as of April 2018. We reserve the right to change, modify, add or remove portions of this Policy at any time, at our sole discretion, and will inform you if we make material changes by indicating on the Policy the date it was last updated or otherwise. When you visit the website or are engaged with us in connection with our recruitment services, you are accepting the current version of this Policy as posted on the site at that time.

Candidates
Starbuck James seeks to comply with all relevant legislation that governs how we work with our candidates, including the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.
In the event that Starbuck James provides services to a candidate to try and secure them a new role, the following terms should be noted:
- Starbuck James is operating in the capacity of employment agency with regard to these services.
- The type of work that Starbuck James will try to identify for the candidate will be either permanent or direct employment with hirers, reflecting the candidate’s experience and career aspirations
- Unless mutually agreed separately in writing, there are no charges to the candidate for the provision of these services
- Starbuck James is under no obligation to secure a role for the candidate
- Attendance at any client interview, including a telephone or Skype interview, is deemed confirmation by the candidate that that introduction was made solely by Starbuck James
- By accepting an interview arranged with and/or by Starbuck James, whether face-to-face or otherwise, the candidate is deemed to have accepted these terms.
